2000w on demand

After a long search I found myself converters decided for this warrior 2000 watts. I use it with a solar system: 150 watt panels and 2-6 volt batteries. I'm not expecting to get the full 2000W potential, but it's nice to have a little extra juice just in case. I mainly use it to run a small water pump that draws about 900 watts. I've also used it with a Magic Bullet Blender and hand drill. The inverter is a little long and therefore difficult to find a suitable place for it, but it is very light, especially compared to the inverters with built-in chargers that I'm used to. I wish it had connections on the top as well so it could be mounted under a shelf as well. I didn't think I would need a built in volt meter (which shows the voltage of your batteries) or a built in watt meter (which shows how many watts you are using), but they turned out to be very nice additions. A wattmeter is great for keeping track of how many watts things are using and to make sure you don't overdo it. The voltmeter always shows 0.2 volts more than my solar controller. The counter backlight is very bright and can be used as a night light. I would prefer it to turn off automatically after a period of time. A few strange things happened to me: I turned it on one day and nothing was plugged in, but it still got hot and the fan came on. Another time I checked the voltage and it was only 80 volts. I contacted the company and they didn't seem to think there was a problem. They also said that the low voltage reading is related to the type of meter I'm using. This is weird because it's reading the voltage of another inverter I have right now. There are two switches to turn on the inverter. The main switch on the back, which I assume breaks the connection between the battery and the inverter, and the power button on the front provide an output. I haven't connected the remote yet. Well, it's not exactly a remote control, but more like a button connected to the inverter with a phone cord. I wonder if he also cut the communication between the battery and the inverter? I asked the company but they never answered. There are no external fuses on this inverter and when internal fuses are present they can be difficult to access. Maybe it's ok, but I'd feel better if there were any fuses out there. I bought this inverter based on the power rating, the 3 year warranty and the cables that came with it. No other inverter offers all this. I hope this lasts long. 9th/16th September: Wattmeter stopped working. It only says 0. I contacted the company and they responded quickly. They suggested disconnecting it from the batteries and turning it off. It did not work. They said I could email them for a repair but I'm not in the US and it would cost too much and I need it. You have to do without a wattmeter. In any case it was a bonus.

Pros
  • 2000w continuous, 4000w peak, KR2000 modified sine wave inverter converts 12vdc to 120vac, connect dc cable directly to 12v battery and power on the go
Cons
  • Style 90
