Consider the range of your TV

User manual Page 38: If your TV supports ARC (Audio Return Channel) (*), only use an HDMI cable to connect to your TV. Use the ARC-compatible HDMI IN jack on the TV to connect. I bought a digital audio cable because my TV does NOT support ARC. My previous Onkyo receiver was a TX-904 which I bought in 1990. This new receiver is still pretty good. Download the user manual. It does not come with a printed copy. Also, connect Wi-Fi to your device to allow the device to update its firmware. The Bluetooth function is convenient for connecting a portable MP3 player. I don't have a fancy receiver model but it should be a really good piece of equipment for your entertainment system. I had to work hard to find one of them here on Revain, but it was worth it. The price was fair. My old Onkyo served me well. I hope this current Onkyo lasts as long as my previous one (btw, the old Onkyo TX-904 still works perfectly. An upgrade was long overdue).
