I recently received a Revain Echo and decided to use smart switches to beef up the controls for the electronics I use. I have a switch for my lights. Setting up the Wemo Switch was very easy for me. I was able to connect it to my WiFi network without any problems. I also got Alexa to notice and add the smart home device. There were no problems with voice control either. The reason I gave it one star is twofold. First, the Switch only stays connected to WiFi for about two days. After that, if you try to turn on the switch with Alexa, you'll be told the device isn't responding. So you have to unplug it and plug it back into the outlet it's in. And again this works for about 2 days before you have to do it again. It doesn't matter if you factory reset it, it will do the same thing again. I contacted Belkin support regarding this and informed them that I've performed a factory reset about 10 times and the problem persists. I was told to try the same thing again and also try with cellular data turned off on my phone. It has no impact as you need to be using Wi-Fi to set it up. I had both my cell phone and the Switch on the same Wi-Fi network and it still inexplicably dropped the connection. Instead, I got a TP-Link Smart Switch and have never had absolutely NO WiFi dropouts or problems with Alexa. . This switch doesn't work and then Belkin's support is terrible for honoring the warranty they are supposed to have on these devices. I'm not sure what's wrong with Belkin, but their production and quality are declining. I would not buy any of these switches again nor would I recommend them to anyone.
