Thanks to TeeJay's review and warning about how he gets dirty, the application is clean and squeamish. I can't comment on its endurance. I expect it to last as long as any other "permanent" hair dye, which is usually around four to five weeks. All hair dyes will run and continue to wash out with shampooing. I wasn't impressed with the after color conditioner that comes with this kit. L'Oreal and John Frieda Post-Color Conditioners have always left my hair shiny and soft; This conditioner made my ends frizzy and a bit rough. This is the first brand of hair dye to cause such visible, dramatic stress (frizzy ends). Luckily, applying Pureology Conditioner fixed that. It gives you an intense blue-black color, but I recommend having a trusted brand of intense post-color conditioner on hand to complement or replace the one in the kit.
