I ordered Black Sapphire. I wanted a cool blue shade because although my hair is dark brown to dark brown, it's an auburn hue (thanks Irish ancestors!) that turns coppery red-orange each time the color fades. So I tried to stay away from any red color. Well, it turned purple. Like Very Purple. It came out VERY black and in the sun it gives off a stunning blue hue. BUT, those are stains, folks. If you are an observant, very careful person planning hair coloring and doing plastic surgery, then I…

Phenomenal awesome!

I have the black amethyst and I love it so much! Both of my managers at work love it and one of my managers bought this to try dying his hair the same color! I started with the ugliest black blonde and added hair color but this color hides it all beautifully! 10 out of 10 definitely recommend black amethyst

Gorgeous Color - Hair Color

I bought Scarlet Black and Raven Black. I have been dying my hair blue black for many years but recently changed the color to plum black. I liked all the black options and will eventually try them all. I started with scarlet black and figured if I didn't like it, raven black would cover it up slightly. i loved the colour. First, it doesn't smell as bad as other hair dyes. My skin has changed color. At first the scarlet was very light. It took about a week for the shade of red to fade. Now red…

Great quality dye.

One of my favorite brands of blue and black hair dye. Nice dark rich colour. My natural hair color is a medium golden blonde. I've been dying my hair black for over 15 years. During this time I have used many brands. Schwarzkopf does not have a strong odor. The color pigments adhere very well to the hair and last a long time. If you notice a different tint or bad smell you have a bad batch and not the usual quality I get from this brand.

Good color for the price.

Superb Color (Black Cherry). The paint didn't burn my head so that's a plus. I was going to try this color a few years ago but forgot and got the opportunity I remembered just now. I like the subtle red mixed with black but it's more visible in the sun outside which is a plus. It took forever to wash out the color which takes a bit of time but I've already dyed my hair red so I know how to do it. Make sure to rinse your hair thoroughly to avoid bleeding. I also have stubborn whites and they…

  • There are other interesting options.

I've been coloring my hair for 16 years; A few years ago my favorite hair color started causing painful, itchy scabs all over my scalp. I tried a few other brands and was glad I found Schwarzkopf. This is the ONLY brand that doesn't (literally) make me pull my hair out! Recommended for anyone sensitive to hair dyes. Note that it still contains the usual ingredients that cause hypersensitivity reactions, but it's worth a try for those who have gone from taking antihistamines to living without…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Thanks to TeeJay's review and warning about how he gets dirty, the application is clean and squeamish. I can't comment on its endurance. I expect it to last as long as any other "permanent" hair dye, which is usually around four to five weeks. All hair dyes will run and continue to wash out with shampooing. I wasn't impressed with the after color conditioner that comes with this kit. L'Oreal and John Frieda Post-Color Conditioners have always left my hair shiny and soft; This conditioner made…

Color doesn't match packaging at all

I've been coloring my hair for years and it's one of the worst methods I've ever used. these are then the other brands of hair dye that I have used. Luckily I bought two boxes anyway, but it still feels like a rip off when it's on the more expensive end. Second, he's bleeding EVERYWHERE. No matter how much I flushed, it continued to bleed for over a week. And most importantly, the color result is NOTHING like on the box. It is neither black nor purple, but reddish brown. Well, the bits that…
