Updated 3/21. So, a few notes. Inserting the air valve into the cup lid was incredibly difficult. This isn't an issue I had during the first skimmer I ordered and returned, but it was a long-awaited issue. On the first skimmer, the valve came off the lid easily and had to be in a precise position to prevent the lid from moving and dislodging from the lid. On the second skimmer, once the valve is pushed into the lid, the valve will not move, keeping the lid in place and preventing the valve from loosening. Also, I had to remove the handle on top of the valve because it was sealed. I removed it completely as it is unusable as it is clogged. I tried poking it with a needle but it feels like there are pieces of plastic inside. Now, after a little silicone trick, the skimmer works great! Removes dirt and keeps my water nice and clean. Lots of changes to get to this point, but eventually it gets done. I ordered a skimmer for my Fluval Flex and while it fits the Tank and Evo perfectly, it has one major design flaw. The upper case still doesn't seal properly, leaving a small hole between the cup and the case. The water eventually returns to the swamp, defeating the purpose of the skimmer. I used some silicone to fill the tiny gap as my skimmer is limited. The water level is finicky but the gap is a big problem. I sent the block back and ordered a second one with the same gap, I couldn't find it. You need steps with your own hands
