Review on Stanley Heritage Vacuum Insulated Food by Karen Thomas

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Almost Perfect (suggested pressure relief)

My first question about any food can is how easy it is to clean. This jar is designed for hand wash only, but it's not difficult at all to put your hand in (the hole is a little bigger than a regular mason's), the stitching is even. and the shoulder is rounded. The seal can be easily removed and replaced. All is well. Disappointed that the inside of the mug is plastic even though the inside of the glass is stainless steel. The cork has a small pressure relief valve (it is necessary that the cork does not get stuck when the contents cool down). It consists of a short channel running from the bottom of the cork to the side of the cork above the seal, with a tiny silicone stopper. It's MUCH easier and better than some of the other jars I've tried, including one from a trendy German company whose lid reads like an engineering thesis. The Stanley valve can be cleaned and the tiny silicone plug removed and replaced. But I had to break a disposable chopstick in half to get a tool small enough for it. So folks Stanley, I have a suggestion to make the slot a little bigger so people can use the tip of a butter knife to take out the silicone stopper and replace it. We will be really grateful to you.
