Two distinct types exist. I upgraded to a newer model (with a black hub). The original model (white wheel, rubber band on the side) garnered the vast majority of the rave reviews. The latest update is a major downgrade. This X-718FB mouse is annoying after using an A4tech WOP-49 (145 in 2022) for seven years. I'm going to check out Logitech and Bloody. Oscar (with all the repercussions: macros, button programming), and in-game DPi switching (with light indicator) are all pluses, as are the price and the number of buttons you get. + Dependable (Hurray still going strong after more than a year.) Drawbacks: - The covering is NOT Soft Touch, but rather a repulsive roughness that makes prolonged use unpleasant. Thick, inflexible cord (gets in the way of productivity).
