I bought this for my two new ferrets both 2 years old. One of them was already notorious for destroying hammocks and beds, so I figured it would be better to buy a cheaper one as I'd be quick to replace it. It took about a month for the culprit to discover how easily the velvet side tears. He managed to gnaw off one of the straps, and also cut a hole between two layers of rabies. When I replaced it a day ago, the poor hammock was in tatters and struggling for life. I've since upgraded to one with a little thicker material. However, my other ferret had no problems with it and was surprisingly well made for such a reasonable price. The clips are a heavy hitter with an easy to use clasp, which I appreciate considering most hammocks use very thin clips that tend to bend over time. It was also very soft and the velvet stayed decently cool in the summer. As long as your pet isn't set on tearing up anything you give them, it's more than worth the price.
