I rate them highly because they are exactly what I was looking for. These are not high end shoes but good shoes for the price for my needs. After a year and eight months I'm exhausted enough to order a second pair. I work in the Middle East and travel every 4-6 weeks for 25-29 hours. I have to go through six security checks in one direction, 5 of which I have to take off my shoes. I've had other non-slip shoes that were either so tight that I had to take the time to stop, bend down and shoe my fingers in them, or became looser which made them uncomfortable on long walks. They are quick to put on and take off, but fit well and are comfortable for long walks. I still keep my old pair and keep them near the door when I need to quickly put on a pair to run an errand or walk the dog. My wife thinks they're kind of silly to wear when walking the dog, but they're just way more comfortable and comfortable than sandals or sneakers. When I'm not wearing shorts, I just pull on my old pair for long walks around the neighborhood or when I run to the shops. When I work abroad, my office is mainly for business. But I have armored vehicles to deliver from my apartment complex to my office, and the dust and gravel was killer for the expensive shoes I originally wore. Also, there are no carpets in the office, and the floors and stairs are polished marble and often slippery, having recently been washed because cleaning is done in the morning for some reason. After almost sliding down the stairs and walking around a few times just in my old dress shoes, I wanted something with good support but still appropriate to the dress code. You are perfect. I save my nice dress shoes for the rare occasion when I need to get dressed, but the rest of the time I wear them to work or when I travel. Wipe the dust off with a damp cloth and give them a quick wipe with a shoeshine sponge so they're presentable enough for my surroundings. I had no issues with scratches or "finish" coming off. After a year and eight months of heavy use, the outer part of the shoe and the sole are in good condition. But the inside, especially on the heel, is worn out, so I'm buying a new pair. A year and 8 months isn't great in terms of durability so I'm giving these 4 stars instead of 5 but these are easily the best shoes I've ever had in terms of comfort and convenience for everyday work and travel. And besides, I really abused her. I wear them all the time, to and from the office.
