Review on πŸ’‡ Professional Hair Dryer Diffuser Attachment for Curly and Natural Wavy Hair - BestTrendy Universal Hair Diffuser, Ideal for Blow Dryers with 1.4-inch to 2.4-inch Barrel Size, Black by Tricia Butler

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Holds up well, but a shallow cup may not be suitable for long or thick hair.

**Update:** I took this on a trip and found that the lock button actually works. If you twist the base to open the clips and twist very hard to open it fully, it will snap into place. It takes a little more effort than expected. But once it's locked you can stick a hair dryer in and then press the button and the clips will release. This makes it less time-consuming to put the diffuser on the hair dryer, but it doesn't make it any easier to take it off - I still wish I had a third hand for it. Also, I've been able to test it with several types of hair dryers, and it works with all of them, including the small wall-mounted hair dryers that are common in hotels. As a normal diffuser, I still find it too small, but it's really good for on the go. Rating upgrade from 3 to 4 stars. - Original Review - I was looking for a new diffuser attachment because the one that came with my blow dryer only has "fingers" with no cup, but I would prefer one that has a cup to fold my curls into. I have an old all-purpose nozzle (ConairPro) that just slides onto the end of the hair dryer. It's exactly the style I want, but it doesn't hold up on my current hair dryer (it pops out once hot) and it's too bulky to pack for travel. I bought this in the hope that it would be suitable not only for travel but also for home use rather than the ones I have. What's good: The clip mechanism for attaching the diffuser to the hair dryer seems to work well and holds securely to my old Conair Nano Silver Hair. Dryer that usually doesn't hold the nozzles well other than those that come with the kit. The diffuser's low height will make it a lot easier to pack on the go than my old all-purpose diffuser and fits more hair dryers. The white clips are not hard plastic, but elastic silicone, so they should not damage the body of the hair dryer. Cup diameter is very large (6 inches). Cons: The quick-release button doesn't do anything at all, as mentioned by other reviewers. [Yes it does, see update above. You must open the clips all the way up for the latch to engage.] To attach the nozzle to the dryer, rotate the base of the nozzle counterclockwise, which will open the clips. with a hair dryer (obviously the lock/unlock button is supposed to hold the clips in place, but it doesn't). Try inserting or removing the hair dryer while holding the clips open. If you have a third hand, that's no problem, but most of us only have two, right? Spread the fingers of your left hand to hold both the base and cup in place so they don't close while you position the hair dryer with my left hand. Someone with poor grip strength will likely have trouble with it. I've tried holding the hair dryer between my knees, holding the barrel up and then lowering the diffuser onto it while holding the clips open - it worked, but it's tricky as you can't see what you are doing do. So it may take a little experimentation to find what works for you. If the company fixed the lock button issue, that would solve the problem. To remove the hair dryer, simply twist the base again to open the clips. Also, a shallow dish can be an issue depending on how you want to use your diffuser. If you usually put your hair in a bowl and bring it up to your head, you'll probably find that the bowl is too shallow for it, especially if you have long hair. My hair is just above my shoulders and very fine and I still feel like the bowl is too shallow to dry my hair. I either need a deeper cup (like the ConairPro) or longer fingers (like the nozzle that came with my hair dryer). hair dryer. I probably won't use it at home because I'd like a deeper cup, but I think it would be great for travel. If I could get the same with a deeper cup that would be perfect. For people who don't need depth, this could be a good choice. the centers are about 7/8 inch high, and the outer ones are about an inch high. For comparison (see my photos), the ConairPro universal nozzle (black) is 4.5 inches high, 5.25 inches wide and 1 3/8 inches wide. "Deep in the deepest part of the bowl. The white diffuser for my Conair Nano Silver hair dryer doesn't have a cup, but the fingers are about 1.5 inches tall, which helps hold the hair in place without the cup.
