But it's important to understand that this isn't the same as a custom-made mouthguard that you get from your dentist (and pay hundreds of dollars for). They will not perfectly match your teeth. That's not really their goal. Their purpose is simply to keep the whitening gel on your teeth. They are very thick, bulky and hard. These aren't the most comfortable things in the world, but they don't have to be either. In fact, they are only needed to keep the gel on the teeth. Following these instructions, my trays have turned out perfect every time.
