Review on Plextor PX-716UF - Dual Layer DVDRW Drive - Hi-Speed USB/IEEE 1394 (FireWire) (PX-716UF/SW) by Justin Smith

I bought this multi-format drive to burn home videos to DVD and back up data from my computer. Put simply, it rocks. It takes every format available and is simple and straightforward to set up. In addition, it looks good and takes up very little desktop space when installed vertically. For those of you interested in video copying like me, the looks of the capture device is only half the battle. I had to upgrade my PC from 256KB RAM to 1GB. Yes, it is 1GB RAM. Otherwise rendering will take forever and you won't be able to run other processes while copying. The choice of software you make is also crucial. Plextor comes with Roxio, which seems to work pretty well, but I'm in the process of switching to a 1Click DVD copy, which seems to work better for videos.
