When I first ordered this adapter, the packaging was empty. It was just a sealed bubble wrap with nothing inside. Contacted Amazon support and a replacement was sent the next day. When I finally got the adapter it worked as intended for about 3 months before the 1000uF capacitor in it exploded. I opened it up, removed the defective capacitor and soldered it in. bought a higher voltage rated part and had to cut a piece of the plastic case to fit, but the charger works again. It's made of cheap components, so don't be surprised if the capacitor breaks after a few months. If you know an electrical engineer or an EE student, feel free to ask them to replace the capacitor in this one when it stops working. You will know which capacitor it is because the top of the capacitor is rounded instead of flat.
