Review on πŸ”΄ Syneticusa 7443 Red Flashing Strobe Blinking LED Light Bulbs: Enhancing Rear Safety with High Power Brake/Tail/Stop Alerts by Michael Vargas

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Clearly. Work as described. Big and fragile.

They work as advertised and the flashing is definitely noticeable. A couple of critiques: 1. They are quite large so I couldn't get them to the third brake light as planned. Instead, I installed them at the positions of the corneramplights.2. They're fairly bright when on, but there's little difference between stop and mark levels. It's noticeable when they turn on because they're flashing, but when you let go of the pedal there's not much shift, which I don't think matters that much. 3. They are quite fragile. The stack of LEDs is surface mount soldered to the base. I accidentally hit it too hard (but not that hard) when installing it and it broke the LED block off the base. I tried resoldering it but it ripped a *tiny* pad off the board so there was nothing to solder. It doesn't take long to make the pads slightly larger, which makes for a stronger connection. (I can apply a dab of epoxy around the base of the LED stack to provide extra support without affecting thermal performance too much. I suspect some of the failures are due to the LEDs breaking their connection due to the impact , which they have to endure afterwards they are installed in the car.)

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Some little things
