I got this for my daughter for her 7th birthday and she loved it. It was the first thing she wanted to open when we got home from the party, next to all her new toys and games. We plugged it in and she quickly figured out how to turn on the radio and change stations. It has really good reception, good volume and the sound is pretty good too, not "tinny" like some of the cheap radios I've had. The alarm clock is pretty smart and cute - you have to unplug the cord from the top "cocked" position and stick it in the bottom "off" position to turn the alarm off, and the snooze button is a platypus hat. You can set it to buzz or alarm with the radio. This is a great purchase for a child who wants to get up in the morning.
