I was nervous before buying because of all the negative reviews. I rent and can't install a portable air conditioner in the window, so I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. I can finally sleep peacefully and comfortably. I don't regret buying this product at all. In my bedroom it is 80 degrees in the morning, stuffy and hot. Even at night the temperature was uncomfortable and I kept waking up in the middle of the night because it was so hot. I had five fans working simultaneously and they still didn't affect the temperature. To fill the evaporative cooler, I add water and plenty of ice cubes to the tank. I live in the Washington area so the humidity is often high and I didn't want to open the window, instead I put this by the door and also put a box fan in the door to draw out the humid air and ventilate the room. . I also added another fan in the corner opposite the evaporative cooler for more cross ventilation. It worked like a dream. Now I can enjoy my room without feeling like I'm going to pass out. Wonderful! It's a bit noisy (sounds like a fan) but I can't sleep without white noise so it doesn't bother me. I'll make some noise because it's too hot and I can't sleep every day. I think a lot of people reviewing this product expect a conditioner, but it doesn't work the same way.
