I was very happy to find shoes in my son's extra wide size as he usually wears wides but even they were sometimes too narrow. At first glance they looked pretty cheap, but the wide tongue strap made me think they would at least be easy to put on. Although they open quite wide, they taper noticeably at the bottom of the eyelet where the tongue attaches. We couldn't even fit our son's foot in the shoe. We returned them immediately.
