This camera has a bad reputation around here, but I think it's a wonderful machine when taken care of. It takes great pictures and videos both above and below water. It can safely be under water for half an hour, after which it must be taken out and gently dried. It can also dive to sixteen feet (I rarely go deeper than eight, so that was fine with me). Annoyingly NO sand can get into the chamber so it's a bit difficult to have on the beach but if you're careful you'll be fine. The camera itself has many shooting modes including but not limited to landscapes, sunsets. , snow, beaches and three types of underwater shots (actually, only two are needed.) The battery is quite large, it only drains quickly if you shoot a lot of videos in a row. In general I recommend this camera, especially for those who like to shoot underwater. I took amazing underwater photos of fish and sea turtles during a trip to Hawaii! This is a good buy.
