Does not assemble well for games and lounges Furniture

I was so impressed with this picnic table right out of the box. Two parts - legs and table top - smell like real wood and look very nice and high quality. The table comes with a carry bag with two compartments - one for the legs and one for the table top to avoid scratching. Virtually no assembly is required other than attaching the table top to the legs. It looks very simple, but it isn't. The tabletop consists of several wooden planks stapled to a thick, stretchy fabric and attached to the legs with two pins on each side. The problem is that the countertop is either missing a slat, making it too short, or the fabric doesn't stretch enough to reach the pegs on either side. My wife and I tried several times to fix the table top but the table started scratching and we were afraid of breaking something. This is disappointing as a small picnic table shouldn't require two adults to assemble. That being said, we can use the table without the lid, but it won't be stable. Hence one star.
