Review on 🕰️ Seiko SRPB43 Men's PRESAGE Automatic Watch with Date - Enhanced for SEO by Sal Muniz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great watch for all occasions

Superb automatic mechanical watch for only $300. As the watch world knows, Seiko is an old watch company that existed at the same time as Audemars Piguet and even before Rolex and has an amazing watch value in history. Seiko seriously shocked Swiss watchmakers and started a historic quartz revolution. So I won't even use the word "fashion watch" because it's not like the other reviewer described. For just over $300 you get a Seiko 4R35 movement (not the 6R15 like those used in the JDM counterpart) which is decent, about +6S/day for what I got. According to the Swiss manufacturer's standard, this is almost at the limit of COSC +6S/day. So I will say that the accuracy is not that great but good enough. However, in case you don't know, only 3% of Swiss manufacturers are COSC certified. The dial of the watch is very detailed, especially the beautiful pattern of the sun's rays, each ray covers exactly one minute. And if you look closely at the dial, all the metal parts are finely polished. The dial is silver gray instead of blue as in the official image. And I think that's one of the problems with most of these good old brands, that they can't take good pictures of their watch. In the sun it has a very faint bluish cast and is amazingly beautiful. The hands are also meticulously detailed, with the seconds hand being slightly curved at the tip to balance the shape of the domed glass. On the back you can see the mechanism and the carefully polished pattern on the details. The second hand can be hacked, and you can also wind the watch manually instead of relying on your body movement for automatic winding, which is a bit fun. Of course, these watches have disadvantages. First of all, I'm not trying to compare this Seiko to Grand Seiko or Credor, which are two luxury brands below Seiko, because the prices aren't even on par. But overall, this might be the best mechanical watch you can get. The Hardlex glass is a little disappointing but I understand Seiko trying to separate cheaper watches from their Grand Seiko. The hour and minute hands are slightly offset, but you won't notice this unless you look seriously at the watch under a microscope, as I did. And the OEM strap is just as bad as its JDM counterparts. The corners have been cut to match the price point. So if you have a watch and really dislike the blue stitched plastic strap that borders on offensive, get a real alligator or lizard leather strap and it will look great and suit most occasions.
