Great watch under $300

For the money you would be hard pressed to find a nicer watch for less than $300. Even if it doesn't have the best Seiko movements, the dial is just amazing. Also note that Seiko leather bands are generally junk, so plan on getting one from Barton Bands or Crown and Buckle.

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Unsure

Clicking sound from spring bars/lug holes

When I first received a brand new watch, the strap felt very loose when moved, as if the watch had been worn before. I also keep hearing clicks when I put it on, gently tugging on the strap. I don't think it's a manufacturing defect on a watch this expensive. I would not buy from this seller again until I get a free replacement.

Pros
  • Solid construction
Cons
  • Transparency

Great watch! - Car radio

I love this damn watch. This is the first watch I've bought as a real adult. I did quite a bit of research before purchasing. I wanted a suit watch with an automatic movement. I am very happy with this watch. It has a cool retro luxury aesthetic. They seem to lose about 1/s per day after a day, which is fine because I'm not a flash chasing Superman across the floor. Shiny black leather strap. When it's under black clothes it's great, but for other colors it's a bit shiny. I'll switch bands once

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Some complications

Beautiful design, but situational!

Mechanism: apparently an updated version of the original 2010 cocktail. The old model had a 6R15 movement but this SRPB43 has a slightly degraded 4R35 movement. Still pretty decent for the price, but I wish they'd gone with the 6R series. As usual with Seiko, the movement itself is immaculately decorated. Case: Typical high quality Seiko case construction. There is absolutely nothing to complain about here. Bracelet: I mean, this is a watch that costs a little over $300, so the bracelet is…

  • Good product for the price

Might be more than just a fashion watch

The 4R movement isn't the best, the black leather strap is really ugly and the hadlex glass is disappointing. But if you can get it under $300, the watch is worth it. The Seiko target market for this line won't really care about the precision of the movement or the crystal to guarantee a huge serve. This is a worthy compromise for a beautiful watch. Depending on the strap, this watch can be worn casually or more professionally. As for the good, the dial is great, especially when the light hits…

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging

Great watch for all occasions

Superb automatic mechanical watch for only $300. As the watch world knows, Seiko is an old watch company that existed at the same time as Audemars Piguet and even before Rolex and has an amazing watch value in history. Seiko seriously shocked Swiss watchmakers and started a historic quartz revolution. So I won't even use the word "fashion watch" because it's not like the other reviewer described. For just over $300 you get a Seiko 4R35 movement (not the 6R15 like those used in the JDM…

Pros
  • Easy to set up
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

The photos do not represent the appearance of this watch well

A few years ago I had the idea of buying an original Seiko "Cocktail Time" watch - SARB065. I hesitated too long and this watch has been discontinued with a corresponding price increase. When Seiko released the new version (SRBP43 for the global market, SARY075 for the Japanese market), I wasn't that impressed. The 4R movement is a step down from the higher power reserve 6R movement in the SARB, and the beautiful "automatic” lettering on the dial has been replaced with Seiko’s "Presage”…
