The 4R movement isn't the best, the black leather strap is really ugly and the hadlex glass is disappointing. But if you can get it under $300, the watch is worth it. The Seiko target market for this line won't really care about the precision of the movement or the crystal to guarantee a huge serve. This is a worthy compromise for a beautiful watch. Depending on the strap, this watch can be worn casually or more professionally. As for the good, the dial is great, especially when the light hits it. Most people are only interested in the dial and it looks really good! The folding clasp comes in handy to avoid wear and tear on the strap and is easily swapped out for a more suitable strap. Minus - as I mentioned earlier, the mechanism is not the most accurate and hadlex scratches easier than sapphire. The quality of this watch may or may not be good, so be careful when inspecting your new watch. But the biggest flaw is the shiny black leather strap. However, it's also an easy fix - I'd suggest switching to a brown leather strap (I like dark tobacco brown leather). This is a great watch with decent performance making it more than a fashion watch. Not really worth more than $350, especially when a new strap is almost a must to maintain a quality look. Edit: Ugly - after the first wind up the second hand would stick to the minute hand. I've heard that low/mid-end Seiko doesn't have very good quality control anymore (or at least not as good as it used to) and this seems to be the first time I've felt it. However, I think the exchange was worth it. After replacing the 1st o'clock, the 2nd o'clock had a similar problem with the pointer. With two faults I can say that there are serious quality control issues and it may not be worth the hassle. Personally I still think this watch is a very good <300 watch despite poor quality control.
