I have a Compaq Presario CQ62. Simply put, it has an overheating problem. I've never seen a Compaq that didn't make it after a few months. I disassembled my computer, cleaned the fan very well and it helped a little. So I ordered a new part to replace the fan but it took up to 5 weeks to receive it. So I ordered this as a cheap mount. My connection cable is about a foot and a half long. That's a good length when I turn my computer over to show my husband. The base itself is small. Perfect size for a netbook or something. But does the job on my 15.4 screen. The fans are low power and quiet, but they help a lot. And I no longer have to worry about leaving my computer on the bed with a book other than my dogs dropping it from time to time lol. It has already been run twice on the fan and the outlet seems fine, the USB is fine and nothing bothers inside. I wouldn't trust my dogs to step on him because then he is (one is 57lbs the other 142lbs. And I'm afraid they will step on him! So be extra careful when he's on the ground or lying on the floor below), but I like the way it's designed. It has an open back to allow hot air to escape. The plastic is thin. But because it's so thin, hot air can partially escape through the plastic, better than a thick model. In general quite good!
