Received my chuck today and haven't used it yet but it looks good. However, when I screwed a chuck onto the lathe on my old Atlas 1250 lathe, I found that the chuck would not stop threading onto the headstock until it actually bottomed out on the face of the headstock housing, rather than the shoulder of the threaded connector . . Spindle. I did this job by making a 1/8" thick aluminum washer to fit over the spindle before the chuck is inserted. The washer is thick enough to push the cartridge base away from the headstock body.
