Review on AOBEN Heat Treated Woodworking Sharpening Carpenter by Daniel Morris

Poor quality control All around

I was very happy with this product. Everything here seemed pretty well tested. Having received this product, however, I would not recommend it to anyone. Several chisels in the case were damaged upon arrival. One of the cases of damage was chipping on the chisel edge. The case that comes with it is sturdy, but many of the tools don't fit well or at all. When the chisels arrived some were obviously not properly stowed in the box as they were dangling around. I suspect this is what caused the chipping damage as the chisels probably bumped along the way. Some additional problems with chisels are poor quality control of chisel sharpness, a melted handle on the largest chisel, and a chisel head that is not square. In terms of chisel sharpness (and only considering the chisels that didn't come with missing chips), some chisels had a distinct edge and were ready to use upon arrival. However, some of the other chisels weren't even remotely sharp. They had such a bad joint that they couldn't even cut the apple, let alone use it in woodworking. As for the melted pen, I'm not exactly sure what happened, but receiving a product like this that's supposed to be new is definitely frustrating. As for squareness, this could potentially render the chisels unusable. When I'm working on critical parts that require a high level of skill, I know I can't rely on these tools.
