This lamp is rated five stars or one star depending on use. The one-star ratings are right, it hardly illuminates. I use it as an accent lamp in a fancy desk stand and the lightbulb makes it a talking point. Definitely worth five stars. When the bulb is off in daylight, it has a highly reflective metallic silver color. When activated, it is dark blue with lighter blue stars and blue dots. If you've seen an infinity mirror, this lightbulb has the same effect. Stars have real depth, not just light passing through a cutout. Used as an accent lamp this is a great addition to my living room. Yes, it's a 35mm film camera converted into a lamp.
