Review on ๐Ÿ’ก Globe Electric Swing-Arm Desk Lamp - Black, Base Included by Robert Blair

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not as described: The lower spring arm can also be a solid solid rod.

Cheap metal quality aside, if you don't need a long range this bulb may work for you. It's pointing the wrong way - the forearm deviates from you and is firmly fixed without moving at all. Other reviewers advise you to remove the screw that prevents the lower bars from rotating, but the manufacturer reinforced the screw with a solid bar that immobilizes the lower arm - its springs are decorative only; they won't move at all. This is apparently done by lawyers to protect themselves from lawsuits because the lamp tipped over and its heat caught fire or damaged something. I bought these because the switch on my old lamp was completely worn out after 15 years. After seeing how cheap it was and unlike the intentionally misleading advert "34", the easily adjustable, multi-spring balanced arm offers total flexibility," I returned it. Went to Lowe's, gave 3 $.50 for a new switch, soldered it in place and all was good. Check out the photo of my old lamp below to illustrate how this style of spring loaded table lamp flexes both up and down, if properly fabricated and mounted on a large, heavy base JULY 11, 2016: I am resubmitting the photo at the suggestion of support.
