good light. Needs a little modification to fully articulate.

minus the star because the lower hinge does not move. See photo. In hindsight, upon closer inspection of the images, it should have been pretty clear that he wasn't moving. But then why springs on the lower hinge? If all 3 joints were articulated it would be a solid 5 stars. Overall this is a good light, especially for the price. However, I would love to find one like him with full articulation. Removing two screws. See photo. I suspect the manufacturer added these locking screws as a designโ€ฆ

Required Assembly and Modifications (Base Model)

Straight to the point - the two screws (of four) on the underside of the bracket that attaches to the base must be removed with a Phillips screwdriver before articulating. There are four screws on one side and three screws on the other side. On the side with four open and counterclockwise counting from the top, remove screws 2 and 3. The lower arm will now be articulated. It is odd that these screws are present as the forearm is clearly intended to be articulated. The springs and hinges areโ€ฆ

upset. Extra screws?

Disappointed. The lamp did not advance (no change). I mean the bottom feathers you see in the product photos (closest to the base) are purely decorative. The lamp only allows movement in the "middle" joint so that the lamp head can move up and down. Of course there is a hinge next to the lamp head that allows movement there. Unfortunately, I thought the lamp could "pull" forward. It is impossible. Also, it doesn't rotate. If you want it to rotate you have to rotate the entire base. I thought it

THE BAD: The lamp is NOT universal, intended for use, or designed with the same characteristics as other lamps.

I bought this lamp NOT to use the clip. I found it to be a typical extension lamp with two screws added to limit its movement as the base was not massive enough to support the lamp on the extension. I removed the screws and found that the lamp tips were being pushed out at all. I have to put a 5lb weight on the base to keep it from falling AND the rod that goes into the base does NOT even fit the clips on my other globes. This lamp is NOT manufactured for use and is NOT manufactured to the same

Not as described: The lower spring arm can also be a solid solid rod.

Cheap metal quality aside, if you don't need a long range this bulb may work for you. It's pointing the wrong way - the forearm deviates from you and is firmly fixed without moving at all. Other reviewers advise you to remove the screw that prevents the lower bars from rotating, but the manufacturer reinforced the screw with a solid bar that immobilizes the lower arm - its springs are decorative only; they won't move at all. This is apparently done by lawyers to protect themselves from lawsuits
