Barely touchscreen, too bulky/fragile for use with ski gloves

I love Smartwool winter sports products so decided to give them a try despite the reviews. I was looking for something to wear under my bulky ski gloves to keep me warm while checking my phone but this didn't fit at all! First the size. I have rather large hands, I ordered size L, the fingers were too long! The rest of the glove fitted well, but the length of the fingers made the material bunch up at the fingertips and it was very difficult to do anything that required dexterity, let alone use the phone (more on that later). The material stretches a bit so could be made shorter. Next up is durability. I wore them one day and the leotard started to roll a lot. Also you absolutely cannot wear them by adjusting the velcro straps as they will break! I would not recommend them for winter sports as it is very common to remove gloves/mittens to adjust gear but I have little faith they will hold up. Finally, the touchscreen capability was disappointing. Due to the pilling and sizing issues mentioned above, these gloves barely registered my touch and often didn't register at all. Also disappointing is the lack of touch material on the middle finger, which is very annoying when zooming in/out on the map. I've seen gloves for 1/3 the price with the middle finger on the touchscreen, so that's an unforgivable omission, IMO. Overall very dissatisfied with this purchase, would recommend others to look elsewhere.
