ATTENTION! The soles are also waterproof

WARNING. I love the Merrell Jungle Mocs. About a year ago I bought a waterproof version. In October 2018 I walked the patio of TREK (Home Depot) in WaterProof moccasins (not very fast - I'm 70 years old) and there was probably a little (not a lot) of moisture on the patio. Both my legs flew up, I lowered my left leg first and quickly, ending up tearing the tendon of the quadriceps muscle. Fast forward – after the surgery, followed by three months of recovery and therapy, I was fine. Then in March 2019 I thought it might rain again so I pulled out the Merrell WaterProof Mocs again, some moisture on the deck again and guess what - both feet flying up again - luckily I landed on both buttocks this time. The only time in my life this has happened to me has been wearing WaterProof moccasins. I can only assume that they must have impregnated the soles as well. I've written to Merrell about it but haven't heard from them (although I've received a lot of promotional material). I've never had a problem with the impenetrable mocks, which I still wear every day. My Advice DO NOT WEAR MERRELL WATERPROOF MOCS MODULES ON A TREK DECK THAT IS LOW MOISTURE. (I threw mine away - I don't need a third mistake.)

Pros
  • Rubber sole
Cons
  • Quality
