Fast when connected directly to a laptop

Although I did not reach the read speed of 100 MB / s indicated on the box, I did when connected to the last laptop that had a microSD slot had in it, so no adapters were used. Previously I tried using an adapter on a USB 3 port and got a 5x slower speed. So it depends a lot on the interface and adapter for your computer, not the limitations of this product. Any adapter was not included.
