Advantages: Bright white light, suitable for lamp body without mods, keep dust cap. Neat low beam diagram. Bad: The high beam has the same brightness as the low beam, but a different light pattern. The big problem is that it's only high and the area normally illuminated by the low beam is now dark. You can't see the road surface any closer. This is a big problem on a dark stretch of road when you need high beams to see further, as the road ahead is now poorly lit. It would be ideal if the low beam and high beam were on when the high beam was on. I tried making a custom wiring harness with a diode to power the low and high beams when the high beams are on, but the bulb seems to turn off the low beams when there is power on the high beam side.
