Review on Polar Products Womens Quilted Waterproof Women's Shoes : Athletic by Joseph Anderson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

sweet boots; definitely not "high "; An annoying feature, for which I deducted 2 stars

I come to a 3 star rating: I really wanted real knee-length winter boots. From the description, reviews and photos it was clear that even for a small man like me they wouldn't be "high" in that sense, but rather hit the calf somewhere. The reason I deducted 2 stars was because while the tongue extends to the bottom of the upper calf, its folded portion ends well below the shaft (near mid-lower calf). When wearing my "tall" boots in deep powder, I want the gusset to go all the way to the top of the boot/tongue. Otherwise, the only hope of keeping my pants and socks from getting wet is for the boot to be tightened to the tongue. I have 14" calves and had to work very hard to tighten the laces so that the sides of the boot met the tongue over the gusset's termination point. Yes, 2 whole stars minus for that. A little more information if it helps. Buyer: If you're small (I'm 5'2) these boots can go well below the knee and well below the calf. For me, the bodice is about 3 inches below the knee and the gussets are much lower. The soles feel like real rubber, or at least sticky and flexible like real rubber, and there are distinct treads on them. to determine if any of the boot/sole materials are waterproof/durable as I've just missed two major snowstorms in our area so I haven't had a chance to wear them while shoveling or in the slush after thawing. I'll waterproof them. Having missed the blizzards I can't tell how warm the boots will be either, but they have a decent amount of fluffy faux fur on top, less in the insole, but I can add an insole. They're really cute in a weird way. I would give 5 stars if the scarf situation was fixed. I would give SIX stars if they were actually knee high and not just calf high.
