I love the ankle protection

Yes, they're half a size smaller than my Freeriders, but that's no surprise - Freeriders are the same. The size is over half a size. From the comments here it seems pretty general. The stiffness takes a little getting used to - the first walk around the house reminded me of my old Galibier Super Guides. These boots take a lot of getting used to, but once broken in I'm very happy that my ankles are no longer banging on my cranks and pedals. They stick to my Crankbrothers Stamp 1 as well as my Freeriders. The pedal setup also takes a little getting used to as it's a bit different than freeriding due to the stiffness and slight weight gain, but the ankle protection is worth it. These are great shoes. Highly recommend, especially if like me you have bloody knuckles from your flat pedals.

Pros
  • The black color and stylish design of these shoes make them a great addition to any mountain biker's wardrobe. They look great both on and off the bike.
Cons
  • Due to the special design, uncomfortable to wear when not riding a bike
