At its most technical, this is a microphone, and it works. That's all I can say about it. This is NOT a noise canceling microphone. The mic is mounted on the front of the condenser tube, meaning all those holes are meaningless. The mute button is actually an on/off button as shown in the picture. Of course, this means that Windows will choose a different microphone because it no longer recognizes this microphone. The sound quality is terrible, I pick up echoes I didn't even know existed and yet my voice is still muffled. save your money
