I only said the color was darker than expected because I expected it to be lighter. But I was delighted with the applied color. For someone who always wears lipstick, I didn't think I could just wear this sheer color, but I really can and it wears well. I saw another review that said it's best for coloring cheeks and I have to agree, it gives your cheeks a sheer blush that looks like you just came in from the cold. I have a few criticisms, not about the product but about the design of the bottle. The bottle has a wide opening and you do NOT want to spill it, so you have to dip the applicator, then put it down, apply and put it back in the bottle. By this time the blush on my cheeks was almost frozen. And one more little detail: it looks like an upside down bottle of nail polish, so I almost opened it upside down a couple of times! It would be a disaster. In short, I deduct one star for the design of the bottle. The product itself is great!
