This is definitely an effective alternative to avoid losing the lens cap when removing it. The packaging was appropriate. There was a stock delay before shipping. As for the product itself, this auto cover requires a flush mount with a wide front lens rim. This requirement precludes the use of filters or sunglasses that screw onto the lens and then screw an autoplug onto it. Raising the filter renders the autocap inoperable as its point of contact extends beyond the front edge of the lens. So if you want to use a UV filter and/or other filters and want to use a screw-on rubber sun visor, you have to unscrew the car cap to do so. You can now lose the limit of $37 instead of $5. I find this product to be more suitable for indoor photography than outdoor photography (where additional lens adjustment may be required).
