Olympus Lens LC 37C Silver 14 42Mm Review

Very nice cap for EZ 14-42mm lens. lose it. When the camera is turned on, the lens cover opens, and when the camera is turned off, the lens cover closes. It works just like the built-in modules of many point-and-shoot cameras. The downside is that you have to remove the cap if you want to use a filter or lens hood on the lens, and this only works with the new EZ Olympus 14-42mm lens.

I've seen some bad reviews about this auto opening lens cap and it's confusing. I hate swinging hats that are held on a collar by a drawstring. This lens fits like part of a lens and works just as well as the small shutters on small point and shoot cameras. It opens and closes smoothly and quickly, just under the pressure of extending and retracting the lens, and it does what it's supposed to do. What do not like. I would buy it again with great pleasure.

Exactly what it says it is an auto open and close lens cap for the tiny Olympus 12-42 folding lens. Add this to your E-PL7, PEN-F or even OM-D EM-1 Mark II and you have an almost pocket-sized camera that captures DSLR quality photos. And you just pull out the camera, turn it on and you're good to go. Don't fiddle with the lens cap (it screws onto the front of the lens), don't lose the lens cap. Just awesome! I wish they could make one of these for EVERY lens.

This is definitely an effective alternative to avoid losing the lens cap when removing it. The packaging was appropriate. There was a stock delay before shipping. As for the product itself, this auto cover requires a flush mount with a wide front lens rim. This requirement precludes the use of filters or sunglasses that screw onto the lens and then screw an autoplug onto it. Raising the filter renders the autocap inoperable as its point of contact extends beyond the front edge of the lens. So…
