I just had my racquet rebuilt by a professional stringer using 52# synthetic gut. I used this caliber on a new string base and it showed very close to 52#. Putting it in a square with closely spaced lines makes it easier to get an accurate measurement. After reading all the 1 star reviews I don't understand how they all had so many problems. This sensor is not a professional tool and is not presented as such. Turning the dial I could believe the voltage was between 50 and 52# - I knew mine was at 52#. But it's still pretty good for a $20 caliber. It's a great tool for checking tension and changing strings when tension drops below 45#.
