Description of 🎾 Gamma Sports Racquet String Tension Tester for Enhanced Performance in Tennis, Squash, and Racquetball

The STT lets you know when it’s time to restring. Provides a "String Tension Index" to determine relative tension loss of strings over time. Modern ergonomic design is easy to operate with one hand. Larger scale, quickly gives readings with more accuracy than competitive testers.

What it measures – Accessories

Measures voltage loss over time. This means that you need a baseline at the time of stretching. Without these, the measurement is meaningless. He cannot accurately measure the tension of a string with a single measurement.

Pros
  • Easy-to-read control panel
Cons
  • Small parts

Good basis for future re-stretching

Ideal for objective measurements between clubs. I've used it on all my friends' racquets so I have a baseline. I'll see how it works when I re-tension racquets in the future and I can calibrate the tester to my string tensioner.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Almost never

the numerical value of the voltage is relative, not absolute!

Great product if you know how to use it. It is not calibrated for precise tension; However, it will provide you with accurate comparison values. Therefore, with a new string, read the tension at the racquet string positions marked in the instructions (10-15). This is your basis for trending.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Love it!: Stringing Machines & Tools

I really like this product. It's always a good product to see where your strings are. I feel like this gives excellent readings, but you have to accept that the voltage you are seeing is not the true voltage it was pulled across. This gives a good rough estimate, especially if you string your crosses at a different tension than the mains. I recommend!

Pros
  • Confident

  • Not Confident

Great string tension tool

A string tension gauge is essential to check string tension on tennis strings. I measure tension immediately after stretching and then about once a week. Once the tension has dropped more than 8 pounds (from 56 to 48 in my case) it's time to get a new string. Please note that "your mileage" may vary. I play with stiff polyester strings and while the string warpage still feels stiff, the string tension can be much less. The voltage tester takes the guesswork out of the entire process.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure

Handy gadget that works well!

I just had my racquet rebuilt by a professional stringer using 52# synthetic gut. I used this caliber on a new string base and it showed very close to 52#. Putting it in a square with closely spaced lines makes it easier to get an accurate measurement. After reading all the 1 star reviews I don't understand how they all had so many problems. This sensor is not a professional tool and is not presented as such. Turning the dial I could believe the voltage was between 50 and 52# - I knew mine was…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • So far so good

Ignore uninformed 1 star reviews

Please ignore 1 star reviews from people who clearly have no idea what they are talking about. I pull my own racquet and use 50 pounds for long shots and 48 pounds for ricochets. As soon as I strung the racquet, I measure the dynamic tension with this device and it comes out 38 or about 10 pounds under the tension of the string machine. The dynamic tension of the racquet is ALWAYS lower than the tension of your string, just watch one of the thousands of string tensioning videos on YouTube to…

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Exchange availability

Why were there so many 1 star reviews?

When I look at reviews before making a purchase decision, I always try to figure out the reason for 1 star reviews: Is it because the product doesn't work as described, or is it? because the reviewer had wrong expectations? In this case, the vast majority of 1-star reviewers never bother to find out what it's actually for. This is a simple and affordable device for tracking a string's tension loss over time. You should not use it to check string tension, measured in lb/kg, on a racquet with new

Pros
  • Excellent Overall Performance
