Great string tension tool

A string tension gauge is essential to check string tension on tennis strings. I measure tension immediately after stretching and then about once a week. Once the tension has dropped more than 8 pounds (from 56 to 48 in my case) it's time to get a new string. Please note that "your mileage" may vary. I play with stiff polyester strings and while the string warpage still feels stiff, the string tension can be much less. The voltage tester takes the guesswork out of the entire process.
