Review on Secure Your Garments With Dritz Sew-On Hook & Eye Closures - Black, Pack Of 4 by Josh Valentino

My very skinny 4 year old is starting Pre-K and I had to special order him size 4 slim in his uniform pants. When the shorts arrived I realized that the shorts had buttonhole closures. This was not going to work for a toddler who needs to be able to get his pants undone quickly to go to the bathroom. I thought these would be the perfect solution. I sewd the buttonholes closed and then sewed the button to the top front of the short to make it look like they were buttoned shut. The hook and eye were very easy to sew on and the closure is very secure. When pulling the hook and eye together it sort of snaps to let you know you have inserted it completely and securely. However, for my sons tiny hands and level of dexterity these were not going to work. In the end I purchased some metal snaps which work much better for his level of dexterity. I was disappointed because I like the look of the button the shorts came with versus the metal snap button I went with. The package comes with two color options for the hook and eye. One is nickel finish and the other is more of an oil rubbed bronze finish. Both are nice finishes and I like have two options within one package. I can see myself using these on other garments in the future so I do not mind that I did not end up using these for this project. This is simple and affordable if you are looking for an alternative closure to garments.
