These devices are inexpensive and produce a lot of light. I would advise buying the ones that have a manual light change, not the ones that have a built in timer/remote control. As other reviews have pointed out, the timer failed after about a year. Buy a simple timer with an outlet and you're good to go. I have a mixed reef tank and have had great results with both hard and soft corals under this light in my 90 gallon aquarium. As with any other high power LED, make sure you don't leave it on too long each day or you'll get algae. 10 hours seems like the best number to me, but that's just my particular situation. Don't be afraid to try them out before you spend a lot of money on a lamp you may not need.
