Review on Sangean WR-7DK Dark Cherry Wood Cabinet Mini Bluetooth Speaker with FM Radio Tuner and Aux-in by Angela Rodriguez

Some issues are best for portable bluetooth speakers

This is an interesting radio. I knew it was small but it was way smaller than expected. Not much more than a deck of cards in width and height. This makes the volume and source select controls tiny. Plus: While the sound isn't great, it's pretty amazing considering the size of this thing. The build quality is also good. Cons: I had serious problems with FM reception. FM sounded great, pulling in all sorts of stations when it was going weak and nothing connected. Didn't even need a small antenna included. However, when I plugged it in to charge or plugged in an extra cable, the FM reception immediately disappeared into the noise. Too bad. I don't know if mine was defective, but it seems to me that it was missing some kind of shielding and maybe something was picked up by the power cord. To sum it up, it worked great when unplugged and running. from the battery. I would have kept it if it hadn't completely lost FM reception as soon as I plugged it in with the USB cable that came with it. But I was planning on using it primarily on my desk so it wouldn't work for me and I sent it back.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • No performance
