This is a replacement for an old model I've been using for more than 3 years - the old charger stopped charging my phone a few weeks ago. This new model has a better design - I love that I can touch the back of the charger to free my phone and it even works after I've stopped and turned the car off. In the old charger I had to find a button to free the phone and it only worked when the car was still powering the charger so I just took the phone out with a little effort. The older one also had a very sensitive front motion sensor and there was no feedback from the device that the phone was already in the holder so it reacted a couple of times on the go due to the wide movements of my husband's hands opening the holder's handles and dropping my phone to let. So the new charger is much better in many ways and seems to connect and charge my phone within seconds of placing the phone in the holder. It also has 3 movable arms that fix the phone well. I did not test the suction cup or mount as the new unit fits well with the old unit's CD holder.
