I was looking for the right winter boots for my Shih Tzu named Luke. It was very difficult for me to try on snowshoes that I bought from other manufacturers. I've searched online for Qumy snow boots and seen pictures of other small to medium sized breeds walking around in winter boots. I said I would speak to one of the people who works with Qumy Co. I played it safe and ended up ordering two sizes. a size 1 and a size two. My Shih Tzu fits a size 2. At first I let him walk around my apartment and hallway and they wouldn't slip off his front and back legs. I've worn it twice in the rain and so far I'm very happy with the brand and the fit! Measure your dog before buying winter boots. If you are not sure then buy two sizes. If size one fits, go back to size two, etc. Each breed of dog has different paws. Like people, I know that some shoes or sneakers are too small or too big, very narrow or a little too big for me. When it rains or snows, I want my dog's paws to stay dry. I don't want to constantly wash his paws with soap and water which can and will dry out her paws. I also don't want his paws to get infected. I hope what I said is somewhat helpful.
