As another reviewer mentioned, it needed a glass and floor panel assembly due to an impact. If a person only needs glass and not a base plate and mounting hardware, then there are much cheaper options. I needed all those details, and I think anyone who needs a substrate with glass needs all those details. This mirror requires 4 mounting pins, 2 (included) connect to small motors and the other 2 are for stability only. There is a note on the box that you may need to move the hardware. However, if you need a mirror with plate, it is because of impact damage or missing parts. These pens are not easy to come by. I could follow them to the landfill, but then I could get glass there too. My biggest problem is that the glass wasn't flat. That's how it should be, it's not a convex mirror. It was warped at the edges, like a mirror in a laugh house. This mirror complements the Super Duty and Excursion Towing mirrors and is far more important to everyone's safety when towing than the mirror on a family sedan where you can turn your head to see everything. I gave 2 stars because the company sent it back with no problems.
