Lake Michigan Camping, filtered several gallons of water with this guy, definitely more water than we could pack for a hike. Neither of us got sick. Easy cleaning process. Make sure you tie something like a coffee filter to the pre-filter as the cotton can get clogged with sand fairly quickly (less of an issue when the water is clearer). The only downside is that the tubes are a little bulky and we needed someone to hold the tubes while someone else pumped them up.
