My house is 20 years old and didn't have soft close closet doors. The original hinges were made by Blum. Bought 2 loops of Blum Soft-Close and 2 to try. Blum hinges close doors a little more slowly than Berta hinges, but Berta hinges are significantly cheaper. Then I bought 50 Bert so that all doors close smoothly. Doors with 2 hinges only needed 1 new hinge to close smoothly. I have 2 doors with 4 hinges. I replaced 2 on each of them. Now they are all quietly closed. In addition, the worn rubber buffers on the doors were replaced with felt gliders. Now the doors close slowly, without a sound.
